Founded in 2009, WHY SCIENCE  is an education technology company creating interactive learning technologies and media which help students and educators to more fully engage in STEM (Science,Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) learning.

We are a team of scientists, artists and education consultants. Together we have created products that holistically embody the best research-based practices for increasing student outcomes, particularly in science and math.

Defining the Problem

We are in the midst of a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Renaissance. Changing economies have generated a demand for new and efficient methods to teach math and science: thereby, enabling countries to remain competitive.

Nations are  falling critically behind in STEM because they are not preparing enough citizens to fill the STEM jobs that are out there now and in the future.

Decades of research show that student achievement strongly correlates with the level of engagement in learning. Our students are falling critically behind, particularly in science and math because we are not engaging them in the classroom. Adequate secondary education is critical to our students if they are going to assume these roles in the workplace of tomorrow.

Our Solutions

Why Science is increasing student engagement in STEM with its interactive learning  technology, development programs and media.

  • Our most recent Why Science product Adventures With Poly & Mer, is an interactive technology based STEM learning tool focused on providing students with stronger problem solving skills.
  • Why Science youth & adult programs ignite a passion for science for all students, including many who may not otherwise have considered an education or career in STEM areas. Upon completion of one of our courses, participating students have expressed a much greater interest in STEM areas and also in attending college.
  • Why Science programs succeed and motivate educators and students by introducing and nurturing problem solving skills based on the culture and practice of science, a methodology that traditionally has only been introduced in our higher level learning institutions.
  • The learning technologies and processes developed by Why Science make STEM areas more accessible to both our students and our educators through the utilization of best learning practice including a heavy emphasis on hands-on &  minds-on activities, all radiated through a lens of technology based learning.

We are very excited about Adventures with Poly & Mer, our new ground breaking interactive learning technology engineered to provide educators tools to dramatically increase student outcomes in STEM.

Our technology based approach to supporting classroom instruction allows educators the opportunity to create optimal STEM learning environments for their students as well as  closely monitor student outcomes.
